WELCOME TO THE NEW YEAR
Dear NESIR Members:
It is my privilege and honor to serve as the 2018-2019 President of the New England Society of Interventional Radiology. I would like to thank all those who supported my nomination and bestowed me with this great opportunity. I would also like to announce Sun Ho Ahn, M.D has agreed to assume the position of Vice President.
The board and I have been working hard this summer to put together another terrific lecture series. We are planning on bringing you 8 lectures from renowned and innovative faculty including Riad Salem on the treatment of chronic portal venous thrombosis, Ziv Haskal with an update on the treatment of portal hypertension, Matt Johnson on utilization of IVC filters and his work on the PRESERVE trial, Saher Sabri with an update on the treatment of peripheral vascular disease and a lecture from the incoming President of the Society of Interventional Radiology, Laura Findeiss. Please visit our website NESIR.org for further details.
While you are on the website, please renew your membership and pay your 2018-2019 dues. Dues are an integral part of allowing us to bring you this educational content that cannot be sustained without your support. Trainee membership will remain free; however, we ask that each trainee present at least one case throughout the course of the year as their contribution to the society. We will also continue web streaming which can allow those of you who can’t make it into Boston to experience the meeting. Benefits of membership include: 8 lectures; educational credit for physicians and nurses; parking and a meal for those on site. Join now to avoid missing any of our meetings this season that kicks off on October 15th.
Please reach out with any comments or suggestions—I want to hear from the membership. I look forward to seeing everyone this fall for the start of the 2018-2019 season.
Sincerely,
Jeff Weinstein, M.D.
